Staff Writer

Hitz 93.9 is the preferred radio station in the Queensland city of Bundaberg, according to the latest survey results released today.

Three commercial stations serve the city – Hitz 93.9, 4BU and 93.1 Sea FM Bundaberg.

The gap between first and second has widened thanks to Hitz’ +5.3 point jump among 10+ listeners. Hitz now sits on 28.6% ahead of Sea FM at 18.3% with 4BU trailing at 16.5%.

Breakfast belongs to Hitz as Matty & Trace race out ahead with 28.6% listenership, rising +4.5% since the previous survey.

Sea’s Nik & Jac slid -1.9%, while 4BU managed a slight boost of +0.4%.

At drive, Hitz’ Nova duo Fitzy & Wippa have leapfrogged Sea FM to take #1 in the slot, delivering a strong jump of +5.4% to reach 29.6%.

4BU improved modestly across every slot, with the most significant gains occurring in the afternoon and evening slots.

“For the second year running, our teams at Hitz 93.9 and 4BU are celebrating with the results of today’s radio survey released,” said Grant Broadcasters’ general manager Trish Mears. “Both stations are #1 in their individual target demographics and growth has been reported across all shifts.”

Overall, it was a survey to forget for Sea FM as the station slipped across all sessions.

The next regional radio survey will be Albany in Western Australia.
