Brendan Annakin departs the Triple M Network

In another major upheaval of the Triple M Network Brendan Annakin, Triple M Sydney mornings presenter and co-host of the Saturday 10am – midday Dead Set Legends show with Richard Freedman, has been made redundant. This also appears to be the end of the road for The Dead Set Legends (pictured below) which also up until recently featured Candace Warner, with no new episodes since October 5, when they continued into December in 2023.

Annakin had been with Triple M, in Sydney and Brisbane, for 12 years winning an ACRA in 2022 with Andrew Very for Best Music Special (Metro) for MMM’s School of Rock with Jimmy Barnes.

The Sunday Telegraph has reported that Josh Olek, currently Triple M Brisbane workdays announcer, will take over the mornings role.

Did you ever hear the tragedy of Darth Bruce The Wise? It’s a radio legend. Darth Bruce was a Dark Lord of the FM, so powerful and so wise he kept hiring TV personalities to helm the 2Day FM breakfast show. Ironic. He thought he could save the network from death, but not himself.
