Hughesy & Kate exit Nova 100

Staff Writer

After 12 years, at 8.10 this morning, Hughesy & Kate announced on Nova 100 that they will finish at the end of the year. You can hear the audio of the announcement below.

In an announcement, dmg Radio has said;

Hughesy & Kate were the first voices that launched Nova 100 in December 2001.

Since then, they have shared everything with us and this morning, that meant sharing the news that they will be able to pull up the doona and hit the snooze button in 2014.

After 2,800 shows, over 3500 guests, 60 outside broadcasts, two weddings and the birth of seven children, the final Hughesy & Kate breakfast show will be broadcast on Friday 29 November.

Dave Hughes, Kate Langbroek and Dave O'Neil were the foundation Breakfast show for Nova 100 in December 2000, and whilst O'Neil left the team a few years ago, Hughesy & Kate have remained on Nova 100 Breakfast for that time.

The other constant has been Executive Producer Sacha French, who was the foundation producer for 'Hughesy, Kate and Dave' (right), and remains with the show to now.

As you would expect, there has been no announcement on the replacement for Nova 100 Breakfast, although a strong favourite would be the current drive show 'Meshel, Tim and Marty'.

Hughesy & Kate finish on Friday 29 November.
