Bogart Torelli celebrates 12 years at Smooth FM

Reporter

It’s a milestone day for one of Sydney’s most enduring Breakfast radio hosts, as Bogart Torelli celebrates 12 years with the Smooth network.

Alongside respected newsreader Ron Wilson, Bogart helps Sydneysiders ease into their mornings, co-hosting the More Music Breakfast Show.

Bogart began her radio journey at Sydney’s 2SM. Before joining Smooth, she was caring for both her parents full-time. She lost them within nine months of each other.

Then the offer to join Smooth came along.

“I do believe that everything’s for a reason,” she told RadioInfo in 2017. “Someone knocks at your door at the right time. Someone makes that call at the right time and I was so grateful.”

It’s a job Bogart continues to love to this day.

“I’m thrilled to be celebrating 12 years on air with my incredible team at Smooth,” she says.

“It’s been an absolute pleasure waking up with our listeners every morning on the More Music Breakfast Show, doing a job that I love.”

Bogart Torelli and Ron Wilson can be heard on Sydney’s More Music Breakfast Show on Smooth FM 95.3 from 5.30 -9am weekdays.

Wonderful lady to work with and so respectful & professional. Bogart also hosted days at Mix 106.5 prior to Smooth.

I first met Bogart back in the late 80’s while I was working on air at 3GL in my late teens in my hometown of Geelong on 3GL. Bogart was doing breakfast with Mike O’ Loughlin on 3GL. I remember Bogart as kind, professional, always smiling, bubbly and always hilarious to be around. Just a wonderful lady. Congratulations Bogart on your amazing radio career!

Congratulations to Bogart Torelli for making it to 12 years at Smooth 95.3.

…but it’s pretty sad how The More Music Breakfast Show is likely to be one of the few remaining parts of Smooth 95.3 that might have a vague resemblance to the station’s original sound/mission.

The rest of Smooth seems have to shift away from Easy Listening to more of an AC format in recent years, while their current ad campaign positioner of “Together In Music” isn’t (but probably should be) particularly well implemented into the station’s on-air sound.
