Ben Fordham takes the lead from Kyle and Jackie O in final survey of 2022

2GB’s Ben Fordham has regained the top Breakfast spot in Sydney this survey, after Kyle and Jackie O narrowly scrapped in the top of Survey 7 to take the lead from the routinely popular Fordham last month.

In the final radio survey of 2022, Ben’s 2GB Breakfast slot climbed +0.9 to finish with an overall 15.7, while KIIS’s Kyle and Jackie O failed to keep the momentum to stay on top, falling -0.1 to end up second best with 14.8.

“It’s an early Christmas present for the hard working team at 2GB. We go the extra mile for our listeners and appreciate the loyalty,” Fordham said.

“For the Breakfast show, we’re humbled to win the ratings year again, as we did last year. Don’t believe the spin from elsewhere, 2GB Breakfast is the number one show in Sydney. Merry Christmas to our wonderful listeners.”

Overall, the top three Breakfast shows are, Ben Fordham Live, followed by The Kyle and Jackie O Show, then WSFM’s Jonesy and Amanda, who reported 8.8 (+0.7). 

Although 2GB regained the top of the podium of the Breakfast slot, KIIS held on to the Drive position with 10.7 (+0.1), but a rise from Nova closes the gap as Kate, Tim and Joel finish the year on 10.5 (+1.5) while Ricki-Lee Coulter covers for Kate Ritchie.

For the final survey of the year, the top stations in Sydney in the 10+ category are: 

• 2GB 12.5 (+0.9)
• KIIS 11.6 (+0.3)
• smoothfm 10.4 (+0.1)
