ARN says Australians’ love of podcasts continues to grow, with its iHeartPodcast Network closing out the year as Australia’s #1 podcast publisher for the 31st consecutive ranker report, while also holding half of the top 10 shows.

Results from the November ranker show the network delivered a combined total of 5.8 million listeners (up 3.5%) and 24.6 million monthly downloads.

ARN’s iHeartPodcast Network also holds five of the Top 10 most listened to podcasts in the country – more than any other publisher – including Casefile. The popular true crime podcast from Audioboom has achieved the #2 overall slot with 929,713 listeners and over 2.3 million downloads.

Life Uncut with Brittany Hockley and Laura Byrne recorded #4 overall (#1 Relationship), increasing its audience by almost 10,000 listeners to 486,275, with over 1.4 million downloads.

Kyle & Jackie O remained at #5, maintaining its position as the #1 Catch-up podcast, with 484,718 listeners and 1.85 million downloads.

The Imperfects moved up to #7 (#1 Health & Fitness) with an additional 93,143 monthly listeners and 149,266 downloads compared to October, with Stuff You Should Know recording #8 overall (#1 Knowledge) and the most downloads across the ranker for the month.

Other standouts include No Such Thing As A Fish (Audioboom) at #22 and She’s On The Money at #29 (and the ranker’s #1 Finance podcast).

ARN’s Head of Digital Audio Corey Layton says “Our network has achieved a 16% increase in listeners year on year. Our incredible slate of shows continues to entertain and educate listeners, with a wealth of innovative new shows set to soar in 2023.”
