ARN launches two new Breakfast shows for the Shoalhaven

Reporter

ARN has announced the launch of two new Breakfast shows across the New South Wales Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands region, both starting live on-air this Monday, May 22.

The first show, Stolzy & Abby for Breakfast, airs on Power FM from 6-9am with well-known local announcer Glenn ‘Stolzy’ Stolzenhein joining current host Abby Hopkins.

Stolzy previously hosted 2ST Breakfast and has built a chemistry with new co-host Abby after sharing the same studio space for the last two years.

Meanwhile, Charles ‘Max’ Maxwell is jumping into Stolzy’s former role, taking over as host of 2ST Breakfast with his show Get Up with Max, also airing from 6-9am.

Max, who has called the Shoalhaven home for the past decade, is a well-known figure in the community who has been a part of 2ST since 2013.

ARN General Manager of the Nowra/Bowral Region Nicholas Purdie says “It is an amazing opportunity to launch two new Breakfast shows. We are really excited about this change here in the Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands region.”

Of his new role, Stolzy says “I’m genuinely excited to be joining forces with the very talented Abby Hopkins. While it’s a NEW show, Abby and I have shared the same office space for the last two years, so we are already really good friends.”

“I can’t wait to share our banter with the Shoalhaven and Southern Highlands region!”

Abby adds “I couldn’t be more excited to bring Stolzy over to the Power FM team. Stolzy is incredible at what he does, and I am thrilled to be able to lean on him and his knowledge to get the show to amazing heights. I just hope the Shoalhaven and Highlands are ready for us and the wild ride ahead!”

On his new show, Max says “Early morning is the best part of the day, and we live in the best place in the world, so what’s not to love about doing Breakfast radio in the Shoalhaven?”

All great new shows, but how about Power fm move off Wave fm’s music log?

It is absolutely ridiculous the two stations playing the same songs at the exact same time considering the massive overspill the two stations have into Wollongong and Nowra. This is something that needs the attention of ARN.

Congratulations to Stolzy but what a loss for us 2st listeners it’s been lovely having him on the Breakfast show and even though Max is also good I will miss his upbeat beginnings to the day. I guess a change of stations is always an option.
