ARN goes beyond the airwaves at SXSW Sydney

Reporter

ARN is set to showcase the power of audio during this year’s South by Southwest Sydney (SXSW Sydney) event, highlighting the creativity and strategy behind the KIIS, WSFM, iHeart and CADA brands.

Kicking off the partnership is a variety of activities at ARN House, an interactive hub open to both badge holders and the general public.

Located at Tumbalong Park, the space will include a daily educational series starting at 11am.

The education series will include the following sessions:

  • Tuesday 15 October – Live & Local – The Significance of News with Head of News & Information Fiona Ellis-Jones and Senior Journalist Brooklyn Ross
  • Wednesday 16 October – Digital Audio Myths & Truths with National Podcast & Digital Sales Director Denis Donati
  • Thursday 17 October – Convergence of Tech & Audio with Creative Director Kade Robinson
  • Friday 18 October – Neuro AI – A New Frontier for Optimising your Audio Advertising with Director of Research and Insights Justin Stone

ARN House will also be home to an exclusive podcasting experience, giving audio afficionados an opportunity to record their own 15-minute podcast, as produced by iHeart and hosted by ARN journalists.

To demonstrate how it’s done, WSFM’s Jonesy & Amanda will record a special edition of their Cutting Room Floor podcast on the Tuesday morning.

During the conference, iHeart will be presenting partner of the SXSW Sydney Podcast Stage.

Podcasts set to take the stage include The Buck Up with Kate Langbroek & Nath Valvo, Black Magic Woman, The Daily Aus, Backstage with Cooper & Matty Johns, She’s on the Money and brand-new show Wiggle Talk – A Podcast For Parents.

On the partnership, ARN’s Chief Strategy & Connections Officer Lauren Joyce says “The event presents a unique opportunity to engage with both a consumer and trade audience.  For us the value is showcasing to our clients in a real-world setting, the depth of the relationship that our listeners have with our content creators.”
