Another month of growth for ad revenue

Metropolitan commercial radio stations have registered their ninth consecutive month of growth in advertising revenue in October.

Total revenue reached $62.303m, a slight improvement of 0.54% on the same period in 2012.

By market, Sydney reported the largest increase, up 3.15% to $19.293m, Melbourne rose 1% to $19.009m, Perth improved 0.52% to $8.511m, Brisbane is up 0.15% to $9.986m, while Adelaide was the only market to slip, that market is down 8.33% to $5.505m.

Joan Warner, the CEO of CRA commented;

“Nine months of continuous growth shows that radio remains a reliable and valuable medium for advertisers in challenging market conditions.”

The figures for the first four months of FY14 are up in all markets with Melbourne leading the way, up 6.75%. The Deloitte figures report actual revenue received by metropolitan commercial radio stations for the calendar month and include all metropolitan agency and direct revenue.
