Anderson joins oOh! Media

Austereo's former Chief Executive Officer, Michael Anderson has been named as the new Chairman of oOh! Media. Anderson will assume the role in addition to his directorships with Fairfax Media and Oztam.

oOh! Media CEO Brendon Cook said he was looking forward to working with Anderson on new opportunities;

“I am excited by the proven media skills and extensive knowledge that Michael will bring to the board. He has been there and done that when it comes to media and given that Austereo was the owner of EYE Retail for a period during his tenure, he is also well across the industry.”

One of Champ's (private equity) directors on the oOh! Media board, Darren Smorgon, said that Anderson's experience in dealing with the challenges in the radio sector made the appointment a strong one;

“He (Anderson) succeeded in radio – which of all other mediums has the most similar challenges and opportunities to OOH – through implementing systems, strategies and processes based on experience he gained from working across all parts of the business…..we feel Michael will be a great asset to the company.”
