AFTRS New Courses for 2015

The Australian Film Television and Radio School (AFTRS), is expanding its range of courses in 2015.

One of the new offerings is the Diploma in Digital Content (Radio).

 

AFTRS Head of Radio Lisa Sweeney said: “We are consulting with a number of industry practitioners to ensure the course content is practical and relevant to all sectors of the industry,” 

“There is an increasing demand for radio experts who can handle the explosion in online activity and this course fills that gap.”

Diploma in Digital Content (Radio) is the country’s only accredited course designed for people in the industry who want to develop the technical and creative skills required to produce engaging and shareable digital content that meets the demands of the ever-changing radio market. 

By the end of this 16-week, part-time, 100% online course, graduates will be industry ready with transferable skills across multimedia platforms. Lisa Sweeney says the course has been enthusiastically received by the commercial, public and community sectors.

Admission to the AFTRS Diploma in Digital Content (Radio) is by selection on merit.

With the AFTRS Core Radio Skills you will learn the fundamentals of creating and delivering engaging, audience-focused radio content. This 6-week, part-time, 100% online course delivers skills in presenting and producing radio programs. It develops an understanding of the Australian Radio landscape, media laws and audience. Students learn how to prepare for a show and how to write for radio. Students develop their voice and learn effective interview techniques.

Core Radio Skills will improve the knowledge and skills of those already on air, will help students produce a professional demo and prepare them to apply for award courses in Radio at AFTRS.
