AFL Live expands

Staff Writer

Crocmedia produce AFL Live, a syndicated footy call that is growing in 2014 and will now also be heard in Darwin, Launceston and West Gippsland.

They are expanding to also feature a Western Australian-flavoured match of the day that will air across regional WA.

New commentators to join the call include recent TRFM breakfast recruit Justin Koschitzke, as well as Andrew Embley, Drew Petrie, Jimmy Bartel, Brad Sewell, Nick Riewoldt and Nick Dal Santo.

Crocmedia chief executive Craig Hutchison said:

“This year’s AFL LIVE call will hit 207 stations across Australia. We’re delighted to be broadcasting six games every weekend into Darwin and Friday night footy into Launceston.

“They’re two key markets that host AFL matches and deserve the best tailored call they can get.

“We’re delighted for the return of 3GG in Gippsland, which is where I grew up. 3GG’s reach spans as far as Pakenham, and across to Phillip Island, and we’re delighted Gippslanders can consume the AFL LIVE call.

“Having a game in WA each week which focuses predominantly on games involving Fremantle and West Coast is really exciting for those in the mining areas, who haven’t otherwise been able to enjoy the game in recent times.”

Hutchison said regional Victoria and South Australia remain the heartland of AFL Live and stations would get up to 6 matches every weekend.

Peter Donegan headlines the broadcast and will anchor each Saturday and Sunday afternoon alongside Rex Hunt. Sandy Roberts will continue to anchor Friday nights.

Billy Brownless, Shane Crawford, Terry Wallace, Liam Pickering and Tristan Foenander are also returning to the broadcast in 2014.
