Adam Spencer exits ABC

Staff Writer

Adam Spencer has this morning announced that he will finish as 702 ABC's Breakfast presenter at the end of 2013.

Spencer has hosted Breakfast for seven years, and announced the decision saying;

"It's been an absolute thrill, an incredible ride and a privilege to host the 702 Breakfast Show. You're always going to miss it when it is gone but now feels right.

I'm also going to miss the audience and my colleagues but I'm looking forward to new opportunities, and life outside the ABC including spending more time with family, friends, and other community interests."

Andy Henley, Local Content Manager ABC NSW, commented;

"His program has consistently been one of Sydney's top-rating breakfast shows, which is a reflection of his contagious personality and enthusiasm. We will be sad to see Adam leave at the end of the year but 14 years of breakfast shifts with triple j and 702 ABC Sydney is as much as we can expect of anyone. This is an exciting time for Adam and 702 ABC Sydney will miss him as will his audience."

Adam Spencer's last show on the ABC will be on Friday 6 December.
