ACE Radio Network ditches talk

The ACE Radio Network has turned off the afternoon talk on its regional radio stations in Albury, Warrnambool, Colac and Swan Hill.

In what it says is in response to listener demands, it’s replacing 3AW’s Tom Elliott with a music shift in those markets.

ACE radio chief executive Mark Taylor has told The Border Mail that it wasn’t a snap decision on behalf of the network, nor was it ‘personal’.

“It’s not a decision taken lightly, it’s nothing against Tom, we just think it’s the way to go”.

However, ACE is not completely done with talk. The Neil Mitchell program will remain part of the network’s schedule in regional markets.

Bout time. A local jock talking briefly about local things and playing great music is the way to go.

If only the regional Triple M had the balls to do the same and drop Hadley and Jones.
