92.5 Triple M Gold Coast rebrands for a day to honour Bonnie

Reporter

Today, 92.5 Triple M Gold Coast is Bonnie FM.

The station has officially rebranded for the day, to celebrate the extraordinary achievements of local Bonnie Hancock.

Bonnie walked out of the ocean onto the Gold Coast on August 28, after completing a record-breaking 12,700km circumnavigation of Australia on a surf ski, and raising $78,000 for mental health charity @gotcha4life.

She broke four world records while battling massive sea swells, and surviving acute sea sickness.

Today, 92.5 Triple M Gold Coast pays tribute to Bonnie, declaring it Bonnie’s Day.

Along with the official rebranding, the Bonnie Burger’s being launched at Northcliff SLSC, helping her to reach her goal of $100,000.

Flan, Ali, & Spida are broadcasting live from the club, joined by Bonnie.

Ali Plath says, “I am absolutely in awe of what Bonnie has achieved. Through sheer determination, physical strength and a level of courage that is incomprehensible.”

“This deserves applause, it deserves the whole Gold Coast and then some to pay tribute. How better than for Bonnie to be immortalised in a burger at the iconic Northcliff SLSC?”

I live in SEQ and I’ve never heard of her at all. These kind of station-naming stunts really suck – they’re so lame.
