4BH to rebrand as Magic

Staff Writer

Fairfax Radio has announced that the 4BH brand in Brisbane will be retired after 81 years, with the station rebranding to Magic 882.

This brings it in line with their Melbourne music station Magic 1278.

The Magic 882 music format will feature familiar songs from the 60's, 70's and 80's with some adult contemporary hits in the mix.

The announcement of Magic 882 coincides with confirmation of the lineup for 2014;

Moyd Kay (below) will host Breakfast, Ian Keenan moves from 4KQ to Magic for Mornings, and Greg Victor will move from Mornings to Drive.

4BH General Manager Anthony Frangi has commented on the rebranding;

“It’s really exciting to witness the evolution of the station and just as our city grows and adapts, so too will Magic 882.

“The station’s presenters all have a love for Brisbane and radio, with Ian making the move from 4KQ after 20 years; his passion for the music we play, infectious personality and loyal following makes him the perfect choice for Mornings in 2014.”

4BH was launched on 2 January, 1932, and the new Magic 882 will launch in January 2014.
