Peter Psaltis from 4BC to RadioTAB

Staff Writer

After 17 years with 4BC, Peter Psaltis host of Sports Today is leaving his fulltime role with the station and in the New Year will be joining RadioTAB.

4BC General Manager Anthony Frangi said: “Peter has been an integral part of 4BC for many years and is loved by his listeners, fellow presenters and producers. He leaves us in a full-time capacity with our sincere appreciation and gratitude for all that he has achieved.

“We are very pleased to say that Peter will continue to maintain his long standing association with 4BC via a regular series of guest spots throughout 2015 and beyond.”

Peter will join RadioTAB Wednesday to Sunday as the network extends its weekday sports breakfast show to include weekends across Australia.

“Peters involvement in sport, from covering (the) Commonwealth Games for the Fairfax group to live calling of Rugby League for both Channel Nine and Macquarie and as a sports coach, holds him in good stead as a fine attribute to the existing RadioTAB team of John McCoy and Paul Sawtell”, said Graham Kemp  General Manager of RadioTAB.

On leaving 4BC Peter Psaltis said: “Afternoons and evenings are a busy time at home and it’s important I am there to support my wife. I’ve been at 4BC for half my life and it will always hold a very strong place in my heart.

Peter and his wife are expecting their second child and supporting his growing family was a major factor in his decision.

“I look forward to fulfilling my (4BC) cricket commitments this summer and hope to play a role in the 2015 NRL coverage on the station and in other ways moving forward”,  Peter said.

His last day with 4BC will be December 8. Peter will start with RadioTAB in January.
