3MP host’s special bond with listener

Jon and Julie – Melbourne’s 3MP breakfast team – had a huge reaction to Jon’s story yesterday about the bond he developed with a listener, whilst recovering from recent back surgery.

It turns out the listener – Rohan – spent time in the same hospital as Jon, and that listening to 3MP was his saviour, whilst he underwent hospital treatment for aggressive cancer.

It comes a day after news of John Farnham’s cancer diagnosis.

Jon made the point that cancer is not a death sentence, and it’s important we send messages of hope and encouragement, rather than sadness and condolence.
