2TM and 92.9fm hold a Bra-B-Q for Breast Cancer Awareness

October is Breast Cancer Awareness month, and 2TM and 92.9fm in Tamworth are showing their support by holding a Bra-B-Q.

What began as an idea at a staff meeting has since become an entity which is growing daily.

The Bra-B-Q will see the 2TM and 92.9fm teams take to Fitzroy Street Mall on Wednesday 26th October 2022, where both stations will alternate broadcasting live from the event.

On site, will be the 2TM/92.9 mobile BBQ trailer where local member Kevin Anderson MP will be cooking up a feast for a gold coin donation.

Along with the BBQ, there will be flavoured milks, donated by local dairy farm, Peel Valley Milk and a cake stall, also for gold coin donations.  There’ll also be a raffle and volunteers will be on hand, taking extra donations on the day.

The bollards along the street will be decorated by bras, which listeners are asked to donate.  These can be dropped off at the studios, or into Sweet Secrets Lingerie in Peel Street by 21st October.

100% of all funds raised prior to or at the event will be donated to Serendipity Tamworth.

Serendipity has continued to raise funds for breast cancer patients in Tamworth since 2004.  All monies raised remain within the Tamworth region to help local patients who are going through cancer treatment.

Serendipity has donated essential medical machinery, provided patients with specialty treatment gowns and care packs, free wi-fi and Spotify at Inala House whilst the receive treatment along with many other things to make treatment journeys more comfortable.

2TM and 92.9fm will be chatting on air with Gary Sinclair, a local carpenter who started Tradies Support the Ladies, Shayne Fraser from the Tamworth branch of the Cancer Council and Kylie Gillies from Sweet Secrets Lingerie, along with representatives from Serendipity and The Wig Library, to name a few.

Those who can’t make it on the day can drop off donations to the station at any time during the month of October.

2TM’s Monte has also let it slip he will dye his hair permanent hot pink and leave it until it grows out if $1000 is reached by the time the OB is held on the 26^th.
