2GB re-sign Jones until 2017

Macquarie Radio Network has announced that Alan Jones has re-signed with 2GB until June 2017.

Jones has hosted the Breakfast show since 2002, and despite, or perhaps at times because of, his controversial approach, he has held the highest rating Sydney Breakfast show ranking for 13 years; recording 87 consecutive #1 rankings.

MRN Executive Chairman, Russell Tate, said that MRN's Board and shareholders were delighted that Jones had decided to continue broadcasting until June 2017 at least:

"Alan's status as the most successful and influential broadcaster in the country is undeniable. He is fit and energetic and sounds better than ever. Alan has committed to maintaining his current broadcast hours until June 2017".

The announcement was made after the close of trading on the ASX today and Macquarie's share price remains unchanged.
