The finalists for the 2019 Siren Awards have been announced, along with the host for this year’s ceremony.

The Siren Awards are run by Commercial Radio Australia and recognise the best in radio advertising.

Those in the running for the Gold Siren for best radio ad of 2019 are BMF, Cox Inall Change and BWM Dentsu, Meerkats, Cummins & Partners, Eardrum, J. Walter Thompson, Clemenger BBDO, Nova Entertainment, Jayworks Partnership and Leo Burnett.

The finalist ads were created for clients including ALDI Australia, Bowel Cancer Australia, Dry July, Emirates, Keno, St John Ambulance WA and Reflex Paper.

The winner will be revealed at a ceremony MC’d by Triple M Sydney Breakfast host and standup comic Lawrence ‘Moonman’ Mooney.

The 2019 Siren Awards are set to be held on May 9 at The Rawson in Sydney.

Last year’s Gold Siren was won by Ray Ali and Carlo Mazzarella from Clemenger BBDO, and the duo are in the running again this year.

“This is the 14th year of the Siren Awards and once again the quality of entries has been outstanding,” said Commercial Radio Australia CEO Joan Warner.

“The creativity displayed in the diverse campaigns showcases the high quality of radio advertising in Australia.”

The judges are the Siren Creative Council, a panel of creative directors from leading ad agencies.

The winner of the Gold Siren will be rewarded with a trip to Cannes Radio Lions in June, while three Silver Sirens will also be awarded on the night.

A Client Award of a $5000 cash prize, judged by a panel of clients, will also be awarded.

Tickets are on sale now.
