What impressed the ACRA judges – Part 1

By now we all know who won an ACRA on Saturday night, we've looked at all the pretty pictures from the red carpet and we've seen who the winners would like to thank.

What else can we give you……

Radio Today have had access to many of the actual entries from the ACRA winners, so we thought it'd be kinda cool to have a listen (or look) at what impressed the judges.

This morning we had a listen to all the metro production audio, there was some awesome stuff in there from the imaging leaders in Australia. (hear it all here).

It’s always really hard putting together an entry because you never quite know what the judges are looking for! This is my fourth ACRAs now.

After being nominated in my first year but not winning, I seriously over thought my entry the following year with too much fancy production and did not get a nomination so the following year I decided that I would go with my gut and not over think it too much and I was lucky enough to get nominated that year and win!

So this year I went with the same philosophy.

It’s a mini-documentary I produced as a tribute for Sgt Todd Langley, a Katanning soldier killed in Afghanistan. I’m a WA boy so when I read the news early in 2011, I felt like it’d be nice for the community to reflect it via the radio on remembrance day.
