Triple M launch new Sunday footy show

Staff Writer

Triple M Sydney will launch a new Sunday afternoon radio show called 'Sunday Triple M NRL' in time for the start of the NRL season.

Hosted by Breakfast host Matty Johns, along with journalist Paul Kent and former Kangaroo Gorden Tallis the show will be interview and content based, and will feature no music.

Matty Johns commented:

“When I sat back and looked at it, I reckon this timeslot is the epicentre of the rugby league week leading into the big Sunday game.

"With Kenty and Gordie, you’re going to get two of the most forthright opinions in the game and then we’re aiming to have all the news from Friday and Saturday wrapped-up.

"It will be issues based, we’ll be at the ground wherever the big games are more often than not and we’ll be heavily focused on football and previewing the football.

"Of course we’ll have a bit of a laugh and things like that along the way but that will take care of itself. We’re hoping it’s going to be a strong show.”

The new show will lead into the Triple M call of the match-of-the-round each Sunday.
