Triple M Charges Up Brisbane

As Brisbane residents assess damage to homes, clean-up efforts have begun in the wake of the devastating floods to hit the southeast of Queensland.

And Triple M Brisbane is doing their bit setting up charging stations for people without power at The Barracks in Paddington.

People can charge their phones and laptops, take a sit and have a snack.

Triple M brekkie hosts Marto and Margaux have also listened to the stories of those affected, alongside the greater Triple M team.

Nola is in her late 60s and lives on her own in Milton. She’s been walking around three kilometers to the supermarket each day for food. Nicole who was at Triple M’s Charge Up site heard her story and bought her some groceries.

Nola told Marto she needed a generator as she was without power.

So, Marto put the call out on air this morning, and Mark from The Gap has offered to drop one off to her.

And, as a former tradie, Marto is using his skills helping out in Windsor today, a Brisbane suburb hit hard.

Now that’s a great way for a radio station to connect with a community. Well done.
