They’re back: Ned and Josh set to launch Canberra’s first daily podcast show.

Former breakfast radio duo Ned Breward and Josh Torney have declared they’re not going anywhere –  announcing the launch of a new local podcast show.

The Ned & Josh Podcast will be Canberra’s first daily podcast show with five episodes a week set to be streamed.

The first episode drops today.

It follows speculation about their plans following their sudden departure from local radio in November.

Torney says the opportunity to reframe their show for a new and expanded audience and on a new platform was too good to resist.

“We looked at some opportunities interstate but in the end we love Canberra and wanted to do something here.”

“We’ve always loved the level of engagement and flexibility offered by the podcast format and it just feels like the right time to go all in on it”.

The pair has enjoyed recent success in the format with their Ned & Josh Express from the US podcast picking up a finalist gong at the 2023 Australian Commercial Radio Awards.

Breward says he’s excited about the adventure ahead.

“In traditional media you are shackled by a range of factors from time to competing interests so we’re looking forward to having the opportunity to focus squarely on quality content.”

Torney says the new show will stay true to the authenticity that has made them a successful on-air pair for almost a decade.

“The podcast will be the same energy and content make up as the radio show, but with a whole new freedom for both us and the listeners.”

“It’s a show completely on our terms and listened to on your terms – when you want it and wherever you want it.”

The pair say they were astounded by the reaction to their departure from local radio, with thousands of messages of support from fans and a petition launched to get them back.

“We’ve been able to develop a special connection with our listeners and we look forward to being able to continue that relationship in a new place” says Breward.

“We’ve also been blown away by the support of the local business community and look forward to announcing our foundation commercial partners in the coming weeks.”

The Ned and Josh Podcast will launch on all platforms today with new episodes uploaded daily Monday to Friday.
