Tassie games in the spotlight on AFL Nation

Tasmanian footy fans will be able to enjoy unprecedented coverage of the 2023 and 2024 seasons, with all the action to be called throughout the state on AFL Nation.

Produced by Sports Entertainment Network (SEN), AFL Nation will broadcast five matches per round on SEN Tassie each week, with one match of the round to also be available on SENTrack 1611am Northern Tassie.

Each of the eight matches played in Tasmania throughout the two seasons will be called specifically for local fans. This includes full commentary from a Tassie-based team led by David Lithgow.

SEN Chief Executive Craig Hutchison says the extended broadcast will enhance interest in the AFL throughout the Apple Isle.

“There has never been such demand and interest in AFL content within Tasmania. Through AFL Nation, we look forward to bringing these fans all the action state-wide, including a dedicated commentary team locked in for all matches played in Tasmania.”

SEN Tassie presenter Holly Fowler, who hosts a Saturday sports program alongside Brett Geeves says the station will continue to put a local lens on what is important to Tasmanian sports fans.

“Tasmanians are passionate footy supporters and have been deprived of a station committed to giving listeners a lean in, play by play broadcast for long enough. We’re thrilled that we can continue to fill that gap here Tassie.”
