Sunshine Coast Xtra Insights Survey 1 is Hot stuff

Reporter

ARN’s 91.1 Hot FM has enjoyed an absolute blinder of a result right across the board in Xtra Insights Survey 1 for Queensland’s Sunshine Coast.

Gazumping its rivals, Hot FM went up 5.9 among all people 10+ (from 12.6 to 18.5), putting it ahead of Mix FM overall (-1.4 to 14.8) and Sea FM (-0.6 overall to 12.4).

This is the first time the station has been #1.

Hot FM’s Sam and Ash gained a whopping 7 points to snare top spot in Breakfast with 19.8. Mix was second (-1.5 to 14.8), Sea FM third and triple j fourth.

Hot FM also enjoyed significant increases in all shifts across the day, night and weekend.

Rod Winner – General Manager 91.1 Hot FM, says “The amazing 91.1 Hot FM content continues to resonate with the Sunshine Coast listeners, which is great news for our ever growing suite of advertiser partnerships. I’m so incredibly proud of the Hot FM family”.

Hale Speedy – Content Director 91.1 Hot FM, says “A brilliant result for the 91.1 Hot FM team!  I’m incredibly proud of the effort put in by this talented group of communicators right across the day, and it’s extremely satisfying to see hard work rewarded with the stations first ever #1, 10+.”

Sea FM secured its largest ever audience.

Simon Rub, CEO of GSL Media, says “Today survey result is a great result for commercial radio on the Sunshine Coast. In a national environment where we are seeing reductions in listenership and viewers across media outlets, the Sunshine Coast is bucking the trend with all three commercial stations showing exception growth in radio. People on the Sunshine Coast are still turning to radio for news, entertainment and more. Congratulations to Hot 91 on their incredible result.”

Ben Erbsland, Group Content Director, says “Our strategic objective has been to establish MIX FM as the leading station for the 40+ demographic, and today we proudly announce that we have achieved this with our highest audience numbers to date.

“Similarly, SEA FM’s core focus on the 25-39 age group has paid off, as we’ve secured the Number 1 position with SEA FM’s largest-ever audience.”

@Will .. Come on mate. How about some credit for the station staff who have been in the trenches for years. Hale Speedy is in the right place at right time with the right staff. It’s a lotto win for him.
