Rohan Lund appointed Southern Cross Media MD & CEO

Rohan Lund has been appointed Managing Director and CEO of the newly merged Southern Cross Media Group (ASX: SXL) after joining the Board as a Non-Executive Officer on March 1.

Lund was Group CEO of NRMA for nine years up to 2025 and has held other senior executive leadership roles with Foxtel, Seven West Media, Yahoo!7 and Singtel Optus.

In an internal email to staff obtained by Radio Today, Chairman Heith Mackay‑Cruise said:

“I would also like to take the opportunity to sincerely thank John Kelly, who agreed to take on the Interim role of CEO TV and Audio whilst this search process was undertaken. John has expertly led our TV and Audio teams in the last few months and his capability and leadership is a credit to our organisation. John will remain in the interim role for a handover period with the new CEO until 30 June 2026 and then revert to his role as Managing Director – Audio.

This is a very exciting chapter for the organisation – we have a strong Board and leadership team, as well as a clear vision for our future as Australia’s leading Multi-Media organisation in which we are all committed to Informing, Educating, Entertaining and Inspiring all Australians.”

In the ASX release Lund said:

“Southern Cross Media Group is one of Australia’s most important media businesses,
with great talent, content and impressive scale and reach across television, audio, digital and
publishing. I am excited to work with the Board and leadership team to accelerate our digital and
operational transformation and continue to strengthen our culture and performance in the interests
of our shareholders, partners and people.”

Alongside John Kelly returning to the role of Managing Director – Audio, Heith Mackay-Cruise also steps back to his Non-Executive Chairman position. Lund commences as MD and CEO on May 1.
