Radio rivals join forces to toast (and roast) Ron E Sparks

There is a celebration of the life of Ron E Sparks this Saturday September 21, from 1pm, at the Treehouse Hotel in North Sydney. Friends, colleagues, neighbours and admirers are all welcome. I mention ‘neighbours’ because Ron E lived near 2GB breakfast host Ben Fordham. When the Fordham family arrived some locals mentioned to Ben that there was already one radio legend in the village. Did they really need another?

Ben and WSFM‘s Brendan ‘Jonesy’ Jones have put any traditional rivalry aside to put together the shindig:

“We’re thankful to Ron’s family for letting us do this. They will join us too as we share some wild stories and listen to the greatest hits from the 80s, 90s and today!”

Jonesy added:

“We want to toast a true legend and gentleman of the industry. He was such a special character. If you’re part of the radio industry or if you’ve encountered Ron E Sparks along the way, come and join us.”
