Aussie entertainment legend Olivia Newton-John is making her long-awaited return to smoothfm.

The Australian music icon will host the Saturday Night Dinner Party.

From this Saturday at 6pm, the four-time Grammy Award-winning will present a series of shows to get listeners in the mood for their ultimate dinner party.

Her return to smoothfm continues a long-running relationship with the network and coincides with an event in support of a cause very close to her heart: The Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness and Research Centre.

“I’m so excited to connect with my fans through smooth for my Wellness Walk and Research Run (October 6) because the station reaches so many people in such a lovely way.

“I hope it encourages people to either attend or be virtual walkers for my fundraiser.”

Over the next four Saturday nights, she will share personal anecdotes, recent recordings and has also selected a number of tracks from artists including The Bee Gees, Bruno Mars and Whitney Houston.

Peter Clay, head of programming at smoothfm says they’re excited to have the Aussie icon back on the airwaves.

“This is one of my favourite parts of smoothfm. Not only do the listeners get to hear their favourite songs, the artists that write them share what’s happening in their personal lives and reflect the music they love to listen to.

“The celebrity-hosted shows are unique to smooth and are one of my highlights.”
Newton-John is the latest high-profile artists and personalities to host the smoothfm Saturday Night Dinner Party. Other hosts have included Ronan Keating, Sir Rod Stewart, Michael Bublé and Nigella Lawson.

Newton-John’s Saturday Night Dinner Party starts Saturday 14 September from 6pm to 8pm on smoothfm 95.3 Sydney, smoothfm 91.5 Melbourne and on smoothfm DAB+

The Wellness Walk and Research Run is presented by smoothfm and will be held in Melbourne on Sunday, October 6.
