ARN takes on sales for The New York Times’ suite of podcasts

Australian Radio Network’s (ARN) iHeartPodcast Network Australia has sealed an agreement with The New York Times to become its advertising sales representative for its podcast portfolio in Australia.

The advertising sales deal will see The New York Times’ most popular podcasts, including The Daily, Serial, Popcast and This American Life, be available on the iHeartPodcast Network for the first time, allowing Australian brands to connect with local listeners.

ARN said the addition of The New York Times’ podcast portfolio to the iHeartPodcast Network Australia solidifies its status as the country’s leading podcast publisher, with the division experiencing substantial growth since launching in February of 2020.

Corey Layton, ARN’s head of digital audio, added that The New York Times is a huge drawcard for Australian brands and listeners alike.

The New York Times is at the pinnacle of podcasts enjoyed the world over and particularly here in Australia,” Layton said.

From The Daily to SerialThis American Life and more, for the first time, Australian brands can now be part of these global sensations. We’re proud that The New York Times have entrusted us with representing their brand and look forward to pairing their podcasts with both Australian audiences and brands.”

The New York Times‘ digital and print advertising interests in the Australian market will continue to be represented by We Think Media.
