New Hit Network roles for Jacob Brown & Matthew McDonald

The Hit Network has announced two significant additions to the on-air teams for HIT Central Queensland, HIT94.7 Emerald and HIT101.9 Fraser Coast.

Jacob Brown (main photo) is stepping in as the new Workday announcer for HIT Central Queensland and HIT Emerald, while Matthew McDonald joins HIT Fraser Coast in the Workday shift.

Brown has entertained audiences across the Fraser Coast and Maryborough markets since early 2023.

Adam Roche, Central Queensland and Wide Bay Group Content Director, says “Having worked with Jacob since the start of the year, it was a no-brainer to move him to Central Queensland and have him dominate the airwaves. An ACRA finalist for Best Newcomer On-Air, Jacob is a passionate, creative announcer with a massive career ahead of him. He’s fun-loving, lives and breathes pop culture, and has already immersed himself into the Central Queensland way of life.”

McDonald (pictured above) joins HIT from the Super Radio Network, where he served as a Drive host, News Director, and fill-in announcer.

Roche says “In Matthew, we have found an engaging, hyper-local, and super-talented announcer. We were overwhelmed with the response to the position and can’t wait for Matthew to bring his style to the HIT Fraser Coast family.”

McDonald says “I’m so excited and I can’t wait to get amongst it, meet everyone, and live my dream job!”

While Brown has already commenced in his new role for HIT Central Queensland, McDonald begins in Hervey Bay from today.
