Meet the judges: Part 1

We’re off and racing. Entries in the 2024 Radio Today Podcast Awards have now closed, and the difficult task of picking the winners is underway as we speak.

Today, in the first our our 3-part series, we meet some of the judges:

 

Abe Udy

Abe is the founder of the audio production company Abe’s Audio.

Originally specialising in production for radio, TV and online content, the business has expanded to provide podcast advice and production expertise.

From startup podcasts to well-established shows, Abe and his team have worked with podcasters big and small, helping them create shows their audiences love.

 

Ali Aitken

Ali was heavily influenced by radio from an early age and went on to study at AFTRS, where she discovered a love of audio production.

Ali spent five years working at Network 10/Paramount ANZ, starting as a podcast producer and working up to Podcast Content & Partnership Manager.

While there, she also wrote, produced, edited and voiced a series celebrating 35 years of the iconic Australian TV show Neighbours.

 

 

Andrew Menczel

Having been involved in podcasting for over a decade now, Andrew founded Piccolo Podcasts in 2019, and since then has been the Executive Producer on a number of popular series, from finance to True Crime.

Andrew loves bringing stories and shows to life, no matter how big or small.

Highlights include Fairground F*ck Ups – a unique and internationally recognised show – and Inside the NSW Police Force.

 

Blythe Moore

Blythe has helped to develop a number of innovative podcasts for the ABC.

These include the award-winning Innies + Outies, Schmeitgeist, Make Me Feel Good, You Don’t Know Me with Virginia Trioli, Let Us In! and the Newcastle Hunter Catch Up.

 

Camilla Hannan

In 2000, Camilla graduated from Melbourne’s RMIT with an honours degree in Fine Arts (Sound), then spent her formative years producing and presenting on community radio.

She worked for the ABC as a promos and technical producer before branching into content, producing broadcasts and podcasts for the ABC, SBS and a range of others.

Camilla has written, produced and sound designed podcasts for a wide range of commercial clients including Audible, Facebook, University of Melbourne and VICE.

 

Darcy Milne

Passionate about audio production, Darcy is a previous Radio Today Podcast Award winner and founder of Pro Podcast Production.

Through his production company, Darcy has made podcasting accessible so that anyone can create a great sounding show.

At just seventeen, Darcy joined Sydney’s 2DayFM as an audio producer.

He went on to craft the sound of SCA and Nova’s national shows, winning the ACRA for Best Achievement in Production.

Grant Tothill:

Grant is the Executive Head of Podcasting for LiSTNR, overseeing five major podcast verticals – Entertainment and Culture, Sport, News and Information, Factual and Drama and Parenting and Kids Entertainment.

He was previously the General Manager of Digital Audio at SCA, the Head of PodcastOne Australia and the Head of the Triple M network, being an early member of the content team that developed the Rock Sport and Comedy format.
