KIIS 97.3 sets up camp to support Brisbane through Cyclone Alfred

Reporter

As Cyclone Alfred approaches, Robin, Kip & Corey – along with the entire KIIS 97.3 team – set up camp at the station’s Milton studios last night, ensuring they remain on-air no matter how quickly conditions escalate.

Their priority: keeping Brisbane listeners both informed and entertained, especially those facing power outages and disruptions.

The trio will be broadcasting throughout the weekend.

Yesterday, Corey hit the streets to lend a helping hand, filling sandbags for local residents preparing for the storm.

KIIS 97.3’s coverage continues into the weekend, with Zach & Dom leading a local drive show tonight (Friday 7th) to maintain ongoing cyclone coverage.

There’ll be news updates every half hour through until at least tomorrow (Saturday) night, with Alana Riley and Jessica Kennedy reporting live from ARN’s Milton studios.

Hourly updates from the Traffic Network will provide the latest on road closures, fallen power lines, and tree damage.

Ongoing updates are available on KIIS 97.3 on-air, online, and across social media channels.

All stations are doing the same. This post makes it sound like it’s a competition. It’s about keeping listeners informed under our Emergency Moratorium, let’s not commercialise a natural disaster.

Veteran Brisbane journalist Monique Dews is on air at 4BC keeping listeners up to date as Alfred makes landfall.

Another Brisbane veteran newsreader Ange Anderson will be back on air at Nova.

SCA have their top tier news talent in Rosie O’Brien on air as well.

While at SEN, Vanessa Gibson and Amy Drew are holding the fort.

If we are going to shout out one. Let’s shout out the hard efforts of all!

There are a lot very experienced journalist on air so take your pick! Brisbane is lucky to have such dynamic team of professionals.

There’s also journos working around the clock on the Gold and Sunshine Coasts.

Not to mention the ABC!
