Former Assistant Editor

ARN‘s parent company Here, There & Everywhere (HT&E) has appointed Paul Connolly as its a new acting chairman.

Connolly is the third person to serve as chairman this year, after long-standing chair and director Peter Cosgrove stepped down in June, and last week’s news that Robert Kaye has resigned.

Connolly has served as a board member and non-executive director since 2012, and has served as chairman of Dublin-based corporate finance advisory firm Connolly Capital Limited since 1991.

He also currently on the board of Communicorp Group and is chairman of Tetrarch Capital Limited, the private Irish media group Business & Finance and UNICEF Ireland.

B&T reports that former Foxtel exec Peter Tonagh is the hot tip to take the job in a full-time capacity in the near future.

In addition, the AFR has reported this week that News Corp could be set to offload its 13.3% stake in HT&E in the near future.

HT&E CEO Ciaran Davis recently said he would be open to selling ARN if the right offer came in.

ARN now makes up a much higher percentage of HT&E’s continued operations since it offloaded Adshel to oOh!media for $570 million earlier this year.
