He’s back! Pricey returns to the airwaves on Triple M Townsville

Local radio icon Steve ‘Pricey’ Price OAM is making his return to the airwaves, hosting a Saturday Breakfast show for the month of July on Townsville’s 102.3 Triple M.

After an incredible 50 years in radio – more than 40 of those in Townsville – Pricey decided to step away from the Breakfast shift last year.

But now, he’s returning with the very same flair for the month of July. And yes, he’ll be wearing a tropical shirt!

“Maybe I need a three-hour break from the hammock and housework … maybe not the hammock,” says Pricey.

“My one-time boss and forever friend ‘Smithy’ asked if I’d like to do what I love for a few Saturdays.”

“I thought about it for 2 or 3 seconds, then asked for a map. So, I’ll be there at 6am … or ten past, depends on if the curlews wake me. Just for fun, and the joy of a weekend in the tropics!”

“What a great addition, or re-addition, to the Triple M Townsville line-up,” says SCA North Queensland Content Director Daniel ‘Smithy’ Smith. “To have somebody who lives and breathes North Queensland hosting Saturday brekky for the month of July is a give me! Word is, as much as Steve is enjoying rejuvenations, he needs a break from Saturday morning housework!”
