The Melbourne Business School’s Digital News Academy has won Gold at the international 2022 CLO Learning in Practice Awards for Excellence in Academic Partnerships.

The awards recognise learning leaders who demonstrate excellence in the design and delivery of employee development programs.

Digital News Academy Director Sonja Heydeman says “It is such an honour for the Academy to be recognised in its first year.”

“The Digital News Academy is an ambitious program which so far has more than 230 journalists enrolled from more than 25 news groups across Australia.”

Winners of the silver and bronze were C2 Technologies in Virginia and the Centre for Leadership at Florida International University.

Launched by News Corp Australia, Google and Melbourne Business School, the Digital News Academy  offers a curriculum dedicated to digital storytelling and enhancing the online skills of journalists nation-wide.

On-the-ground reporters, editors and publishers are provided with the latest tools, techniques and insights on online news gathering and multimedia storytelling.

To date, they’ve produced hundreds of multimedia stories using RØDE’s vlogger kits.
