Gladstone station turns back time
This week, Gladstone's Zinc 927 did a Cher.
They ‘turned back time’.
On Monday, Zinc switched back to being 4CC, a station that Gladstone locals grew up with.
Breakfast announcer Rob Kidd (left) told The Observer he was excited to bring 4CC back to the listeners.
"I'm eager to interact with them about local issues and events," he said.
The station was purchased by Grant Broadcasters when they bought the entire Prime Radio Queensland eight months ago.
The new owners wanted the Gladstone station to have its own brand from the Zinc network.
Station manager Sally Waghorn told The Observer the station wanted to introduce changes that would improve the sound and feel of the brand to really capture a community focus.
As 4CC the station features a talk back show with Rob Kidd weekdays from 8.30-10am and an afternoon show with Clare Wootton from 3-6pm.
