Erin Rhone joins Nova Brisbane’s Breakfast show as news reader
Nova 106.9 in Brisbane has a new news reader for its Ash, Kip, Luttsy & Susie O’Neill Breakfast show while Ange Anderson is on parental leave.
Taking up the position is Erin Rhone, who has worked across ABC, Sky News, Macquarie Radio, SCA, ARN and AAP. In addition, she spent time in the press office of then UK Prime Minister, David Cameron.
Nova Brisbane noted Rhone had already been welcomed by colleagues and listeners alike, and there would be more to come as they began discovering her extra-curricular talents.
Publicity for the appointment noted Rhone has a podcast, A While Away, about a record-breaking row across the Atlantic, and recently placed fourth in an amateur bodybuilding competition “so [she] knows a thing or two about spray tans”.
Anderson welcomed her first baby, Hallie Sage, on March 13.
Editor’s note, April 6: This story first referred to Erin Rhone’s new position as ‘news director’, based on information from Nova. This has since been corrected to ‘news reader’.
Nova: hey Erin we need a pic for your press release
Erin: sure..here you go
I guess it should be “newsreader” instead of “news director.” Also, “maternity leave” and not paternal leave.
Hi Neil,
The story had already been updated to say ‘news reader’, rather than ‘director’, following an error and then correction at Nova’s end. There is a note/ correction at the bottom of this story to reflect the new/ correct information.
Also, it says “parental” leave, not “paternal” – a mistake I’m sure many have made in the past, but not in this instance.
Hope that clears up the confusion,
