Changes to GfK Surveys in 2025

The schedule for GfK metro surveys for 2025 has been released by Commercial Radio and Audio (CRA) with one key change for the final survey of the year.

Survey 8, 2024 is measured across September, October and November and released on Tuesday December 17, when most metro talent will be on their Christmas breaks.

In 2025 Survey 8 will be measured from October 5 to December 13, adding an extra two weeks to the end of the the ratings period compared to 2024. The results of that survey will be released on Tuesday January 20, 2026.

In the UK RAJAR, the GfK equivalent, allows presenters only a two week break from survey, over Christmas and the New Year. Over the summer break 2024/25 Australian announcers get seven weeks.

It is possible that starting from 2026 that might be tightened to five.

Either way 2026 on air returns will mean straight back into business with Survey 8 straight up rather than a two month wait till March for Survey 1.

The 2025 schedule is here.

Your comparison to the UK is misleading. A two week Christmas break in the UK is equivalent to our winter break.
The break over UK summer (Jun/Jul) is larger and equivalent to the Australian christmas break.
