Breakfast host sacked

Mel Little from the breakfast show on Mix 104.9 in Darwin has been dismissed after allegedly giving prizes to her family and friends.

The prizes were tickets to a Darwin Cup Carnival Ladies Day function and were valued around $300 each. The NT News report up to 8 friends and family won tickets.

Little spoke to NT News, saying:

"At worst my actions could be described as naive. I loved my time working at Mix 104.9 and wish them continued success."

Station GM Mark Johnson said, "All I can comment on at this stage is that Mel Little has been dismissed."

Neither party are saying anything further than that.

Little was once known as Mel Hope and has previously worked in Albury and Launceston.
