Nova 919’s Ben Harvey gets engaged

Nova 919’s Breakfast co-host Ben Harvey got engaged over the holiday break to his partner Sam Wallace.

Harvey proposed in Port Douglas in Queensland after his other plans fell through.

“We’ve been dating for five and a half years, I thought it was about time,” he said on air.

“[Sam] wanted to be proposed to in Japan, but obviously with COVID that wasn’t going to happen… We went snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef and then that night I told her I’d organised a dinner. We went across the hall to her mum and dad’s room and her family were all there and I did it in front of all of the family.”

Harvey co-hosts Nova Breakfast in Adelaide alongside Liam Stapleton. The duo moved into the role last year after hosting triple j Breakfast across the country. They were replaced on triple j by Sally Coleman and Erica Mallett (Sally & Erica), however the new show only lasted a year.

In 2021, Ebony Boadu and Bryce Mills have taken over the triple j Breakfast slot.
