ACMA approves temp breach for MRN Sales

Staff Writer

The Australian Communications and Media Authority has accepted enforceable undertakings from Macquarie Radio Network to offload both 2CH in Sydney and 4LM in Mt Isa.

As both Fairfax and MRN flagged to the market earlier this week, the sales are occurring because of the merger of the two groups.

Today ACMA has approved a temporary breach of the control rules in the Broadcasting Services Act 1992 (BSA) of two-to-a-market.

MRN has undertaken to divest 2CH and 4LM and they have until March 31st 2016 to secure new buyers.
You can view the full undertakings at the ACMA website here.
