The Ned and Josh Podcast celebrates 300 episodes

It’s been a long time coming, but Canberra’s own The Ned and Josh Podcast has officially reached 300 daily episodes.

It just didn’t happen quite way the boys originally planned.

The 300th episode, which dropped this morning, marks a significant milestone for Ned Breward and Josh Torney.

The local duo and former brekky radio hosts have been steadily uploading episodes for the past 18 months.

But while the countdown to 300 had been ticking away for weeks now, listeners may have noticed it stalled just before the big number.

The reason? According to the boys, they simply didn’t know what to do for episode 300. So they avoided it altogether.

Instead, they changed the name of the show to The Ned and Joshua Podcast, giving themselves a bit of breathing room and prolonging the inevitable.

It was, in typical fashion, a chaotic and tongue-in-cheek workaround to a self-imposed milestone.

With daily episodes stretching across everything from shower thoughts to strange local news stories, the show has built a loyal and growing audience of people looking for a quick laugh and a light moment in their day.

It has now been heard in well over 70 countries.

“We’re trying to give people the chance to give their brain a little bit of a break and have a laugh every single day” says Josh.

Ned adds “Our listeners, who we call the Pod Pals, are just the best and their support is unbelievable.”

One of the show’s biggest strengths is its drop in, drop out format. You don’t have to listen in order, or every day.

The boys describe it as the kind of podcast you can return to whenever you need a pick-me-up or a few refreshing minutes of nonsense.

With 300 episodes now behind them they are well on their way to having a podcast for every day of the year.

And if history is anything to go by, there’ll no doubt be a few detours along the way.
