About the Internship

The eight-week paid Radio Internship Program is an ideal opportunity for the next generation of Australia’s diverse radio talent to build their skills and get real-world experience under their belt. We’re seeking passionate and ambitious individuals eager to gain hands-on experience across our various radio departments.

Across the eight weeks, no two days will look the same, giving you a broad hands-on feel for what it’s like to work within our Radio station! One day you might be creating content with our producers and on-air talent across our different programs, engaging audiences through posts on our social media platforms or you could learn panel operation for smooth live or pre-recorded broadcasts, managing timing, content, and audio quality. You will truly gain a comprehensive understanding of what it’s like to work within our Radio station.

Based out of Cannon Hill, Brisbane, the internship program is managed by our Radio Station / Content Manager and you will be buddied up with a Mentor for each of your rotations.

About you

• You have an interest in pursuing a career within a Radio Station & Digital / Social Media
• You are available for full-time work for eight weeks commencing mid/late October 2024. You may be required to work across different shifts (day, afternoon, nights and weekends).
• You are open to the potential of either permanent or casual opportunities post-internship
• You have knowledge and passion for news and current affairs
• You are professional in approach and have a strong work ethic
• You have excellent communication skills
• You are eager to learn and get as much out of the program as possible
• And most importantly, you are a team player who works best in a team-based (and fun) environment!

Our goal is that we give you the training across the eight weeks to be ready post-program to go into a casual or full-time position. So if you prove yourself, there will be opportunities after!
