triple j select Dubbo band for One Night Stand

Staff Writer

A few weeks ago triple j announced that their 'One Night Stand' would be stopping off in Dubbo on Saturday 13 April.

triple j will be on the Western Plains with Flume, The Rubens, Ball Park Music and Seth Sentry. They are also giving a local act the chance to play live on stage at the event via the Unearthed platform.

Today they have announced the local band will be Peoples Palace. triple j says:

"Born and bred in Dubbo, the quartet is made up of two brothers, a cousin and a best mate, ranging from only 19-22 years old. Their song ‘I Want to Know’ caught our eye with equal measures of youthful angst and an energetic take on overcharged pop punk, nodding to hallmark born-in-the-90s influences like Fall Out Boy and The Getaway Plan."

The event will be broadcast live from 10am, and for the first time will be also broadcast live on ABC2 from 7pm. Through a second screen there will a complete range of multi-platform content such as videos, photos, artist blogs and music streams.

The One Night Stand in Dubbo will be on 13 April at the Dubbo Showground.
