Smallzy chats to Harry Styles on Smallzy’s Surgery

Staff Writer

Upon the release of his self-titled debut album and the surprise announcement of an upcoming Australian tour, Nova’s Smallzy spoke to Harry Styles.

“I definitely hope that people like it, it’s something that I’m really proud of,” Styles said of the album. “I think in terms of the sound, it was my first album so going into the process, I didn’t know what my solo album sounded like.”

Styles admitted his decision to write the record in Jamaica was because he wanted to remove himself from any disturbances that would inevitably crop up back home.

“I think that was kind of part of the reason why I wanted to get out of the city was that I didn’t want any distractions or anyone else kind of influencing it. I was really interested to see what came out if I was writing my album.”

Smallzy asked Styles about his experiences in Australia and how he feels about expanding the tour down under.

“I have a couple of friends in Australia that I’ve got to meet over the last few of years of going – it’s going to be nice to catch up with them. I went to a really nice seafood restaurant last time I was there, I can’t remember where it is.”

The full interview will air tonight on Smallzy’s Surgery from 7pm to 10pm on the Nova Network.
