SCA give a leg-up to radio hopefuls

Southern Cross Austereo will tomorrow launch the 'Regional Radio Endorsement Program', in conjunction with Charles Sturt University.

The program is designed to attract school leavers to be chosen for acceptance into the Bachelor of Communication (radio) degree at Charles Sturt University in Bathurst.

The ads (below) will run in 9 regional locations on SCA stations inviting applicants to express their interest.

The successful applicants will be provided with the opportunity to return to their local markets during course breaks and complete work experience at the SCA stations who have endorsed them for the course.

The intention is that following the 3-year course, Southern Cross Austereo will have the opportunity to hire a number of degree qualified radio students who already have experience on-station.

Eligible markets are: the Gold Coast, the Central Coast, Newcastle, Townsville, Toowoomba, Wagga, Dubbo, Orange and Bunbury.

Applications close 31 July.
