RTI students graduate, and two have already landed radio gigs

At a ceremony on Thursday night at Melbourne’s 3AW, Radio Training Institute’s October 2016 Advanced Radio class graduated in front of friends, family and radio industry guests.

Two students from the cohort – Daniel Hilliard and LJ Gorse – secured radio jobs prior to graduation. Hilliard is moving to Dubbo, joining ZooFM’s breakfast show, while Gorse has landed a role as a casual producer on Triple M’s Hot Breakfast with Eddie McGuire.

Thursday’s ceremony was attended by a number of radio industry guests including ACE Radio CEO Mark Taylor, 3AW and Talking Lifestyle 1278 director of operations Stephen Beers, Crocmedia content director Dave Carter, KIIS 101.1 and GOLD 104.3 content director Sam Thompson, and Hughesy and Kate’s executive producer Sacha French.

Earlier this year, Radio Today put the spotlight on eight advanced radio talent involved in RTI’s pop-up station, many of whom graduated at Thursday’s ceremony.

RTI currently has two active intakes of students with the next available Advanced Radio Course beginning July 3.
