Pedal power at Sea Sunny Coast

Staff Writer

This morning Brad and Sophie from Sea FM on the Sunshine Coast turned 'National Ride to Work Day' into 'National Ride to Work while doing a radio show Day'.

They rode a tandem bike (see below), doing their breakfast show the whole way.

They started peddling in Caloundra and then rode over 20 kms to Maroochydore. It took them until 8.30am, they then did the final half hour from the comfort of the studio.

Sea FM's Content Director Ryan Khay "was excited about pushing the envelope with the technology, running the team through two versions of the Tie Line Report IT software off Sophie’s iPhone and Brad’s Galaxy Smartphone, back to the 2 Tieline Codecs in the studio. We also tethered both phones off Ryan’s new iPhone 5 to use the 4G network for better stability."

Earlier this year we told you about Perth's 92.9 and the technical stuff behind their OB from a bike. Read here.
